Tenants living with damp, mould, defective heating, leaks or structural disrepair are entitled to a home that is fit for habitation. Our chartered surveyors produce independent housing disrepair reports for tenants, landlords, housing associations and solicitors across Canterbury and the Home Counties, documenting defects and the works required to put them right.
What the report covers
The surveyor inspects the property, records each item of disrepair with photographs, identifies the likely cause and specifies the remedial works and their approximate cost. Where relevant, the report considers the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018 and the landlord’s repairing obligations.
