Structural Design for Extensions & Lofts

Extensions and loft conversions add valuable space and are among the most common projects our engineers support in Canterbury and the Home Counties. Behind every successful conversion is a set of structural calculations and drawings that ensure new beams, foundations and floors are safe and compliant.

Extensions

For single and double-storey extensions we design foundations, beams, lintels and connections to the existing structure, taking account of ground conditions, nearby trees and drainage. Our drawings and calculations form part of your Building Regulations submission.

Loft conversions

Converting a loft usually means new floor joists, steel beams to support the roof and floor, dormer framing and stair openings. We design each element so the existing roof and walls can safely carry the additional load.
